Doran Martell receives news of Myrcella’s death and is distraught, but he and Areo Hotah are immediately murdered by Ellaria and Tyene. The palace guards look on without intervening, Ellaria stating that his people have become dissatisfied with Doran’s inaction against the Lannisters. She vows that weak men will never rule Dorne again.
ELLARIA: When was the last time you left this palace? You don’t know your own people. Their disgust for you. Elia Martell raped and murdered, and you did nothing. Oberyn Martell butchered, and you did nothing. You’re not a Dornishman. You’re not our prince.
DORAN: My son Trystane…
