Daenerys agrees to assist Yara and Theon if the Ironborn will cease all reaving, raping, and pillaging going forward, to which Yara reluctantly accepts.

THEON: He murdered our father and would have murdered us. He’ll murder you as soon as you have what he wants.
TYRION: The Seven Kingdoms.
THEON: All of them.
DAENERYS: And you don’t want the Seven Kingdoms?
THEON: Your ancestors defeated ours and took the Iron Islands. We ask you to give them back.
DAENERYS: And that’s all?
YARA: We’d like you to help us murder an uncle or two who don’t think a woman’s fit to rule.
DAENERYS: Reasonable.

TYRION: What if everyone starts demanding their independence?

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 09 Battle of the Bastards

Later, Daenerys and Tyrion meet with Theon and Yara, who have arrived in the city. They offer Dany their fleet of ships if she will help them overthrow Euron and grant independence to the Iron Islands. Tyrion is wary of Theon because of their previous encounter at Winterfell and of his supposed murder of Bran and Rickon Stark, but Theon and Yara insists he has paid for what he has done, and proclaiming he did not kill them.

DAENERYS: You’ve brought us 100 ships from the Iron Fleet with men to sail them. In return, I expect you want me to support your claim to the throne of the Iron Islands?
THEON: Not my claim. Hers.
DAENERYS: And what’s wrong with you?
THEON: I’m not fit to rule.
TYRION: We can agree upon that at least.
DAENERYS: Has the Iron Islands ever had a queen before?
YARA: No more than Westeros.
THEON: Our Uncle Euron returned home after a long absence. He murdered our father and took the Salt Throne from Yara. He would have murdered us if we’d stayed.
DAENERYS: Lord Tyrion tells me your father was a terrible king.
YARA: You and I have that in common.
DAENERYS: We do. And both murdered by a usurper as well.

DAENERYS: Will their ships be enough?
TYRION: With the former Masters’ fleet, possibly. Barely. There are more than 100 ships in the Iron Fleet.
THEON: There are and Euron is building more. He’s going to offer them to you.
DAENERYS: So why shouldn’t I wait for him?
THEON: The Iron Fleet isn’t all he’s bringing.
THEON: He also wants to give you…
YARA: His big cock, I think he said. Euron’s offer is also an offer of marriage, you see. You won’t get one without the other.
DAENERYS: And I imagine your offer is free of any marriage demands?
YARA: I never demand, but I’m up for anything, really.

Theon and Yara take the Iron Fleet to Volantis to take on supplies. Yara, who is enjoying a Volantene prostitute, tries to encourage Theon to regain his former identity and confidence, as she will need his assistance in retaking the Iron Islands from Euron. Yara then reveals to Theon that she plans to take the Iron Fleet to Meereen and forge an alliance with Daenerys before Euron.

YARA: You escaped. You hear me? You got away and you’re never going back. We’ll get justice for you.
THEON: If I got justice, my burnt body would hang over the gates of Winterfell.
YARA: Fuck justice, then. We’ll get revenge. Drink. Listen to me. If you’re so broken that there’s no coming back, take a knife and cut your wrists. End it. But if you’re staying, Theon, I need you. We’re gonna sail to Meereen. We’re gonna make a pact
with this Dragon Queen. And we’re gonna take back the Iron Islands. Are you with me? Are you really with me?

In the Kingsmoot, Theon silences the doubters about the Iron Islands have a queen by backing Yara’s claim. As the crowd begins to sway in Yara’s favor, Euron Greyjoy arrives and stakes his claim. Euron freely admits the killing of balon greyjoy, while denouncing him as having led the Ironborn to ruin. he promises to conquer Westeros by marrying Daenerys Targaryen and offering her the Iron Fleet, and is chosen as king.

THEON: I am Theon Greyjoy, last living son of Balon Greyjoy. And she is your rightful ruler.
MEN: Aye!
THEON: Those of you that have sailed under her, and there are many of you here, you know what she is.
MEN: Aye!
THEON: She is a reaver.
MEN: Aye!
THEON: She is a warrior.
